The is a cover of a song my father wrote back in the 1970s. it's based on a true story about some incidents that happened in rural Nova Scotia.
lyrics
It was a strange kinda summer deadly still and warm
It didn't rain for 40 days
The Melonson Farmers were fretting over crops
Only good thing growing was hey
Some Boys got together kinds strained with the heat wondering
What can they do with their time
One pulled out some matches, another got some gas
It wasn't a very good sign
Watcha gonna do when a child is born
You're gonna give him a bike, he's gonna steel a Ford
That's how things happened in the valley that day in the summer
Grant Lockhart was a big one, didn't know how to run
He believed barns were built to burn
There's no one around who could tell him any different
Grant knew all he had to learn
Now he and his friends, they weren't wild at the roots but
July was hell for us all
That's when the HortonVille devils decided to burn
The Alan boys cows and their stalls
Watcha gonna do when a child is born
You're gonna give him a bike, he's gonna steel a Ford
That's how things happened in the valley that day in the summer
'Round about 10 on a friday evening, Grant was taking a ride in his truck
5 miles back another barn was burning, that boy just ran out of luck
But the cops got him first before the burned out farmers could tear the skin from his back
Grant got 8 years in a far away prison to put him on the right track
Watcha gonna do when a child is born
You're gonna give him a bike, he's gonna steel a Ford
That's how things happened in the valley that day in the summer

A Softer World has to be my favorite Eva X track so far. Her sound and voice seem to be evolving. It sounds great and love the way everything is coming together and mixed. The remix on this release is also great. What a spin off of the original track! Love this release. Looking forward to see where the next Eva X adventures go. Keep doing what you are doing! RECON
